Disposition
Jackie Welles is just a guy trying to make it out of the life he was dealt at birth. Most people in Night City don't come from much, but the majority of them have normalized the climb out of the lowest levels of society by any means necessary. Crime is commonplace, and even working in the corporate world doesn't save you from having to get your hands dirty or put your life on the line. It's a dangerous place to grow up, and Jackie Welles spent most of his younger life in Heywood, a neighborhood in Night City. He got involved in a gang at a young age, likely to escape being in the presence of his abusive father, and even after he was out of the picture continued to try to make a name for himself running jobs after he left the Valentinos gang.

He can be chill and laid back at times, but also has moments where he allows his nerves to get the best of him. Jackie will put his everything into something once he's set his mind on it, but he can be painfully stubborn if anyone tries to make him do or believe something he doesn't want to. In the game we can see that he is family-oriented and fiercely loyal to whatever crew he runs with and whoever he does jobs for. During his ofrenda side quest, we see how other people saw Jackie as a person and it opened up another side of him that he didn't show to just everyone. He was persistent, surviving an incident where he was shot three times near his heart and made it out of the hospital and back to the streets.

Also, a man of honor. He loves his mother and tries to do right by her even though they don't see eye to eye about things (like his merc work and his new girlfriend), but never did anything to disrespect her and tries to keep her from worrying so much for him. He's also ambitious to a fault. Jackie often voices a desire to get enough that he doesn't have to live the lifestyle he's had any more. He also had interest in going out in style so he can have a drink named after him.

Under pressure
He isn't the sort of man that works well under pressure. Jackie feels the pressure, and we see in the game that the stress does get to him even if he tries to cover it up with humor, silence, or yelling. He doesn't have any issues voicing his vulnerabilities and frustrations during these situations. We also see him pray when he's desperate, whether it's meant to be ironic or a sign that he's spiritual isn't really made clear, but Jackie isn't a stranger to spirituality in one form or another.

While he's not generally an angry person, his temper can flare during times of stress. During a couple jobs we see that he can be hotheaded. Other times he'll poke fun at dangerous targets knowing it could jeopardize missions. It seems like a coping mechanism he uses when it looks like things are going to go shitside up.

Near death. Fell down the side of a building, probably has broken glass in places. Definitely a bullet or two somewhere in his side. Likely spent a few days in the hospital upon arrival.
